A Kansas City Senior Session Built Around Personal Style
Every once in a while, a senior session comes along that just feels like the heartbeat of MGP — and Ayla’s All Inclusive experience was exactly that. Her vision, her style, her personality… everything aligned to create the kind of magic I dream about photographing as a Kansas City senior photographer.
Starting in Westport: Thrifting, Vinyl, and a Whole Lot of Personality
We kicked off Ayla’s senior session in Westport, one of my favorite areas in Kansas City for seniors who want a little personality and edge in their photos. It’s colorful, eclectic, and full of character — perfect for capturing who she is right now.
Ayla loves thrifting and vinyl record shopping, so we leaned all the way into that theme. She explored record bins, wandered through shops, and let her natural vibe shine. Nothing posed, nothing forced — just her, completely in her element. Sessions always feel extra meaningful when we build them around your real interests, and this was such a fun way to start the day.
Golden Hour at Shawnee Mission Park
After soaking up the city energy, we shifted into nature mode and headed to Shawnee Mission Park for part two. This location never disappoints — especially for seniors looking for warm, dreamy, nature-filled photos in the Kansas City area.
We had:
- flowing creek water
- soft wildflower fields
- that gorgeous golden-hour light
- wide-open natural backdrops
Ayla brought the calm, whimsical energy, and SMP brought the glow. It was a match made in senior-session heaven.
The Wicker Suitcase Moment (AKA: My Whole Personality Now)
Okay, I have to talk about this because it might be one of my favorite senior session moments to date.
Ayla showed up with the cutest vintage wicker suitcase — truly the most “Ayla” prop ever. We stuffed it full of wildflowers and created this whimsical, cinematic setup that fit her style perfectly. It felt like a scene from an indie film, and it brought a whole new layer of storytelling to her gallery.
Props don’t have to be big or complicated to make an impact. When they mean something to you — or match your vibe — they elevate everything we create together.
