There are some families that just feel like sunshine every time you get to see them — and the Pearcy fam is one of those for me. I absolutely adore every moment with them, and this year’s session was extra special because we were celebrating sweet Lilah turning ONE! Cue my heart melting into a puddle.
For their fall family session, we packed up and headed to Cider Hill Orchard, one of my favorite spots for Kansas City family photos. It has all the good stuff: rows of apple trees, soft light, and that cozy feeling you just can’t fake. The perfect little playground for a one-year-old’s milestone session.
We wandered through the orchard, picked apples, and giggled our way from one pretty pocket of light to the next. Lilah was living her best life — tiny hands grabbing apples, big smiles for mom, dad, AND brother. It’s the kind of session where you can literally feel how loved these kiddos are.
One-year sessions are such a magical mix of chaos, sweetness, and personality, and the Pearcys embraced it all. These are the moments I love documenting most—not the perfectly posed stuff, but the real, gentle, joy-filled in-betweens.
