Holy wow. Jamie + Alex’s wedding day was everything a photographer could dream of — classy, bold, wild, emotional, and absolutely unforgettable. From the weather to the people to the pure magic between these two, I walked away feeling ridiculously grateful to document their story.
The Monroe in Des Moines understood the assignment. Every corner, every detail, every inch of the space was a photographer’s playground. Add in an all-black dress code? ICONIC. The energy, the style, the edge — it elevated every single frame. Between the chic floral designs by Something Chic Floral and the striking architecture, this venue made every shot feel cinematic.
But what really stood out (as always) were the people. The love. Jamie + Alex are surrounded by the most incredible humans — friends, family, and a full cheering section that adore them loudly and genuinely. The way these two interact with each other and the people around them is effortless, joyful, and magnetic. Their love is real. Their day was photography gold.
I don’t take for granted a single second of being invited into days like this. Being able to witness and document love stories like Jamie + Alex’s is what makes this job so full of heart. Jamie + Alex, you two are something truly special, and I can’t wait to see where life takes you next.
